How to Find Your Steam Trade URL (2026 Guide)

Your Steam Trade URL is a unique link that allows other users to send you trade offers directly. It’s required for trading on most third-party marketplaces and with trading bots. Here’s how to find it.

What is a Steam Trade URL?

A Trade URL is a special link that includes your Steam ID and a unique token. It looks like this:

https://steamcommunity.com/tradeoffer/new/?partner=XXXXXXXX&token=XXXXXXXX

This URL allows anyone to send you a trade offer without being on your friends list.

ℹ️
Why You Need It

  • Required for third-party marketplaces (SkinPort, BUFF, etc.)
  • Enables automated bot trades
  • Allows traders to send offers directly
  • Faster than adding friends for every trade

How to Find Your Trade URL

Method 1: Steam Website

  1. Go to steamcommunity.com and log in
  2. Hover over your username and click Inventory
  3. Click Trade Offers (right side)
  4. Click Who can send me Trade Offers?
  5. Your Trade URL is displayed under “Third-Party Sites”

Method 2: Direct Link

Go directly to: steamcommunity.com/my/tradeoffers/privacy

Method 3: Steam Client

  1. Open Steam desktop client
  2. Click your username → Inventory
  3. Click Trade Offers
  4. Click Who can send me Trade Offers?
  5. Copy your Trade URL

Generating a New Trade URL

If you need to invalidate your old Trade URL (security reasons):

  1. Go to the Trade Offers privacy page
  2. Click Create New Trade URL
  3. The old URL will stop working immediately
  4. Update your new URL on all marketplaces
⚠️
When to Reset Your Trade URL

  • If you suspect someone has unauthorized access
  • After removing a marketplace account
  • If receiving spam trade offers
  • After a potential security breach

Where to Use Your Trade URL

Third-Party Marketplaces

  • SkinsChoice – Enter in account settings
  • SkinPort – Required for selling
  • BUFF163 – Needed for trades
  • CS.Money – Bot trading

Trading Communities

  • Reddit trading subreddits
  • Discord trading servers
  • Trading forums

Trade URL Security Tips

💡
Stay Safe

  • Don’t share publicly on social media profiles
  • Only use on trusted sites
  • Reset periodically if shared widely
  • Check trade offers carefully – URL lets anyone send offers
  • Never give out API key – Trade URL is different from API key

Troubleshooting

“You are not allowed to trade”

  • Enable Steam Guard Authenticator (15-day wait for new devices)
  • Check if your account is trade-restricted
  • Verify your email address is confirmed

Trade URL Not Working

  • Check for extra spaces when copying
  • Generate a new URL if expired
  • Ensure your inventory is public

Trade URL vs API Key

Don’t confuse these two:

Trade URL API Key
Safe to share on marketplaces NEVER share – dangerous
Lets people send trade offers Gives full inventory access
Can be reset easily Used for automation/bots
