Steam Account Recovery: What to Do If Hacked

Account compromised? Act fast. Here’s exactly what to do.

Signs Your Account is Compromised

• Can’t log in (password changed)
• Unexpected trade confirmations
• Missing items from inventory
• Strange messages sent from your account

Immediate Actions (If You Can Still Log In)

1. Change password – Right now
2. Revoke API key – Check here
3. Deauthorize devices – Settings → Security → Deauthorize all
4. Annuler pending trades – Deny any you didn’t initiate
5. Check email account – Change that password too

If You Can’t Log In

Step 1: Try Password Réinitialiser

1. Go to Steam Support
2. Click I can’t sign in
3. Enter account name or email
4. Follow password reset process

Step 2: Account Recovery

If email was changed:

1. Go to Steam Support
2. Select I need help with my account
3. Choose I can’t sign in
4. Select Mon compte was stolen
5. Provide proof of ownership

3. Select appropriate violation
